Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone teaser trailer on HBO Max

HBO Max has released a new trailer for its Harry Potter series. The first season is titled Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and follows the first book: Harry gets his letter, meets Ron and Hermione on the way to Hogwarts, and starts his first year at the school.

Dominic McLaughlin plays Harry, Arabella Stanton plays Hermione, and Alastair Stout plays Ron. The adult cast includes John Lithgow as Dumbledore, Paapa Essiedu as Snape, Janet McTeer as McGonagall, and Nick Frost as Hagrid.

The series premieres on HBO and HBO Max on December 25, 2026. Each season covers one book, so the story restarts from the beginning rather than continuing the films.
